Kids and Teens

Houston—We have a Martian in our home

Are you asking yourself--
  • What is wrong with my child?
  • Why did we have another rough morning?
  • Why isn’t she/he listening to me?
  • Why is my kid getting bullied?
  • How do I get my kid to talk to me about their problems or what they are going through?

Well, if you are asking any of these questions, you are not alone.  Striving For Harmony is here to help you with these issues.

We will engage children in therapy through sand trays, art, activities, stories, role-plays, puppets etc., so your child will feel comfortable with opening up and talking.  Our sessions create an active, emotional connection between the child and parent or caregiver, resulting in improved self-image, an ability to regulate emotions and establish healthy relationships.

We involve the parents in the session.  We have worked with many families and have learned that the best approach with changing a child's behavior is to have the parents be an active part of the session. This alleviates splitting and fosters and healthy relationship.  We have  experience working as in-home therapists, which helps with understanding various home environments.   We recognize that we need to get a full picture of all the child's environments such as home, school, day care, extracurricular activities etc., so we can address the whole situation.

We develop a plan of action together.  We teach you what motivates your child and develop interventions that work.  We use a parent and child team approach.  Call today to make a difference in your child’s life. (609) 784-8217
